Library Dedication

August 12, 2014

On August 6th, The Forum at Park Lane held a Library Dedication for two of the resident authors.  "High John The Conqueror" was written in 1948 by resident John W. Wilson and it tells the story of African American cotton farmers struggling to hold onto their land during the Great Depression.  Resident Martha Hammond wrote "Mama Said", a happy grouping of admonitions from a loving mother to her three girls as they spread their wings and grew into adulthood.

August 12, 2014

Chef Paul Glassman, of The Forum at Park Lane, competed in the second annual FARE Culinary Competition June 16-18 at the Gaylord Texan.  The competition focus was on the most creative idea for a portable and convenient meal.  They had 60 minutes or less to complete the entrée using required ingredients.  The event also featured a special guest appearance by all-pro running back and foodservice entrepreneur Herschel Walker.  Next year’s FARE Conference will be held June 22-24 at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville.
